About Loft

Loft was founded in 2016 by Tom Buysse. Tom grew up between frames and sunglasses, he became very passionate about the small world of optics. Quite early on, he went abroad in search of inspiration. In Paris and Milan Tom speaks for the first time with designers and the idea grows to start something new himself.

In 2016, he finally opened Loft with his first store in Ghent, out of love for the city. He resolutely goes for innovation: with a vision to offer a unique and carefully chosen selection of glasses that is distinctive on the one hand, but above all still unknown to the general public.

More recently, Loft Amsterdam opened its doors in March 2021. The charming corner building in Utrechtsestraat exudes 100% Loft DNA: warm, inviting and with a love of aesthetics.

In 2019, Loft opens a second location in Antwerp.

This store becomes MASUNAGA's first flagship store.

Masunaga is the oldest eyewear manufacturer in Fukui - Japan.

October 2022 - The very first 'Loft Handmade Eyewear' Collection is a fact. A 2-year search for the most beautiful colors and most sustainable materials led to a beautiful collection of 15 shapes in 3 colours.

August 2023 - The fourth Loft location opens in Kortrijk. A surprising interior with our familiar concept and range of handmade glasses.

We want to make the world of cool, sustainable eyewear accessible to all. Eyewear made in workshops (not sweatshops), by hand and with love for the traditional craftsmanship.

When you enter Loft, our long table invites you to take a seat. We show you what is new, what strengthens your character, and is complementary to your taste.

We show different designs and let you travel through the styles of France, Sweden, Japan, and Germany.
